HANDWRITING
The students brainstormed "se" words that say "zz" such as cheese and please. Students wrote three "se" words three times and the date once.
FRENCH
The class added notes on the panda, penguin, and moose to our zoo section.
MATH
The students continued to work on the "Show What You Know" section.
Some strategies that were used include:
DOUBLES STRATEGY
Ex: 6 + 7 =
If you know the double 6 + 6 = 12 and 7 is one greater so,
6 + 6 = 12 + 1 = 13 and therefore
6 + 7 = 13
NEAR TEN STRATEGY
Ex: 3 + 8 =
If you know that 2 + 8 = 10 and 3 is one more than 2 then
2 + 8 = 10 + 1 = 11 so
3 + 8 = 11
RELATED FACTS STRATEGY
Ex: 17 - 9 =
If you know that 9 + 8 = 17 then you can see the answer to the above question is 8.
Test on Thursday, March 18th.
SCIENCE
