HANDWRITING
The student's copied today's riddle, answered it, and wrote the date.
"How many apples can you put into an empty box?"

FRENCH
The students finished reading a story about the insects and a raindrop.

MATH
We reviewed what edges, faces, and vertices are in pyramids and prisms.

SCIENCE
We read about composting and learned that fruits, vegetables, bread, grass clippings, leaves, and other organic material can be composted. You shouldn't put meat or fish in your compost pile as this can attract rats and mice. When the peels and other materials have been acted upon by bacteria and fungi they turn into humus. Humus can then be added to your garden and this will help the soil to provide nutrients for plants. Composting is like recycling in many ways.

* The answer to today's riddle is: "Only one because then the box isn't empty."
* The mosquitoes are exceptionally bad on the playground so you may wish to send bug spray with your child.
