Welcome to our new student "Lymbert."
HANDWRITING
Today the students copied a riddle, an answer, and the date.
Why do we dress boys babies in blue and girl babies in pink?
FRENCH
We continued to practice vocabulary on insects and the places that they can hide from the rain.
MATH
Students finished up page 199 on comparing fractions.
SCIENCE
We watched a BrainPop on soils and did the quiz that followed. We learned that soil is made of humus (dead plants and animals and other organic matter), rock, air, and water. The most humus is found in topsoil where plants grow. The other layers of soil are called horizons and below that is found bedrock. Rocks can be broken down by weathering or erosion. Nutrients from one horizon can leach down into the next lower horizon.
SHOW & SHARE
We met a snake named Viper and a dog named Buddy. We also heard about several other pets and saw pictures of them.
* Track and field has been moved to Friday providing that the weather is dry.
* The answer to today's riddle is: Babies can't dress themselves.
